Mr Ellabban is a double-qualified consultant ophthalmologist with a subspeciality interest in Cataract surgery and Retinal diseases at Hull University Teaching Hospitals. Mr Ellabban has performed over 10,000 cataract procedures. He is also experienced in managing cataracts in challenging situations or combined with other procedures. He uses the latest technology in surgery and offers premium lens implants tailored to meet the demands of each patient’s clinical and personal needs.
Mr Ellabban has diverse experience in retinal surgery and offers state-of-the-art retinal surgery for a range of retinal disorders, including macular hole, epiretinal membrane, floaters, and retinal detachment. He also provides intravitreal injection treatments for retinal disorders, including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal vein occlusion. Mr Ellabban was trained across the UK, Japan, and Egypt. He completed a PhD from the world-renowned Kyoto University in Japan, focusing on macular diseases. He is a senior lecturer at Hull York Medical School and has more than 50 publications in peer-reviewed ophthalmic journals and co-authored 5 book chapters. His research was presented at major ophthalmology meetings across the world.
Mr Ellabban was invited as a guest speaker to many national and internal meetings. He participated in over 15 multicentre trials investigating new modalities for treatments for retinal diseases.
His main leisure interests are sports, including road biking and football, and he enjoys following Formula 1.
Mr. Ellabban dedicates his career to patient care, but he also has a special interest in research. He has taken an active role in research throughout his training and continues to do so as a consultant. His research was presented in the major ophthalmology meetings across the world. He is a co-investigator in multiple multicentre trials.
Mr. Ellabban regularly presents the outcomes of his research and clinical experience at major ophthalmology meetings worldwide.
